Ofankor Ward Sponsors Stake YSA Devotional

The Ofankor Ward Young Single Adults invited all the YSA’s of the Ofankor Stake to join them for a Sunday afternoon devotional. Elder and Sister Peine, who serve as the Area Mental Health Senior Missionaries, and Elder and Sister Pierce, the Area YSA Senior Missionaries, lead the discussion which included a wide range of topics, from the YSA Plan, and to gospel centered principles that apply to education, vocational pursuits, and temple marriage.  They emphasized that there is one plan that each of us should follow – Heavenly Father’s Plan.  Following Him, rather than worldly pursuits, will bring peace and happiness in this life, as well as in the life hereafter.  As we become members of the Church we are “are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.”

”  This is the lifestyle we should seek verses what popular cultures throughout the world encourage.

Several fun and interactive activities were also held to help the YSA’s understand the value of communication and sharing feelings to better understand each other.  Understanding how to have healthy social relationships is very important for young single adults. Participating in the activities was time well spent.  A skit was also presented to help the YSA’s understand the importance of fellowshipping each other and helping one another feel welcome in YSA Sunday School Class and weekly YSA FHE’s. The principle of “one bring one” was also discussed and encouraged to help strengthen those that might be “weak in the faith that they too may become strong.”

As the afternoon concluded, a short question and answer period was provided along with a tasty dinner.  Socializing was enjoyed by all and new friendships were developed.  Brother and Sister Mintah, Ofankor Stake Eternal Marriage Class Instructors shared their testimonies.   Several members of the stake priesthood and auxiliary leadership were also in attendance. The YSA’s enjoyed this time together and expressed their appreciation for what was presented and enjoyed by all.  Bishop Bright Mawusi Kuman, bishop of the Ofankor Ward presided at the devotional and Brother Emmanuel Adu-Gyamfi, 2nd Counselor conducted.  There were seventy in attendance.
