Marcus B. Nash, President
Elder Marcus B. Nash was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 1, 2006. At the time of his call he had been serving as a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy in the North America Northwest Area. He has served as President of the South America West and South America Northwest Areas and as assistant in the North America Northeast and North America Southeast Areas. He has also served as an Assistant Executive Director in the Church History and Correlation Departments, Executive Director of the Correlation Department, and as a member of the Boundary and Leadership Change Committee. He is currently serving as president of the Africa West Area.
Elder Nash graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and earned a law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU. He was a partner in a major Seattle law firm at the time of his call as a Seventy.
Elder Nash has served in many Church callings, including full-time missionary in the El Salvador San Salvador Mission, stake president, bishop, ward Young Men president, elders quorum president, and Gospel Doctrine teacher.
Elder Edward Dube, First Counselor
Elder Edward Dube was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 2013. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Third Quorum of the Seventy in the Africa Southeast Area. He is currently serving as the first counselor in Africa West Area Presidency.
Elder Dube received a diploma in education in 1992 from Zimbabwe D.E. College and studied entrepreneurship at the University of South Africa in 2003. He has worked in many positions for the Church Educational System in Africa for over 15 years.
Elder Dube has served in several Church callings, including full-time missionary in Zimbabwe, district president, branch president, stake president, president of the Zimbabwe Harare Mission, and Area Seventy.
Edward Dube was born in Chiramanzu, Zimbabwe, on May 12, 1962. He married Naume Keresia Salizani on December 9, 1989. They are the parents of four children.
Elder Hugo E. Martinez, Second Counselor
Elder Hugo E. Martinez was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 5, 2014. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy in the Caribbean Area. He recently served as a member of the Caribbean Area Presidency and is now serving as the Second Counselor in Africa West Area Presidency.
Elder Martinez completed his premedical studies at the University of Mississippi from 1974 to 1977. In 1981 he received a medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. In 1984 he completed a family practice residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Elder Martinez worked for 20 years as a physician and medical consultant before retiring in 2004.
Elder Martinez has served in numerous Church callings, including bishop, Elders quorum president, district president, counselor in a mission presidency, president of the Guatemala City Central Mission (2005–2008), and Area Seventy.
Hugo Edgardo Martinez was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, on January 10, 1957. He married Nuria Merced Alvarez Pagan in December 1980. They are the parents of five children.
