AREA PRESIDENCY


Marcus B. Nash, President

Elder Marcus B. Nash was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 1, 2006. At the time of his call he had been serving as a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy in the North America Northwest Area. He has served as President of the South America West and South America Northwest Areas and as assistant in the North America Northeast and North America Southeast Areas. He has also served as an Assistant Executive Director in the Church History and Correlation Departments, Executive Director of the Correlation Department, and as a member of the Boundary and Leadership Change Committee. He is currently serving as president of the Africa West Area.

Elder Nash graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and earned a law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU. He was a partner in a major Seattle law firm at the time of his call as a Seventy.

Elder Nash has served in many Church callings, including full-time missionary in the El Salvador San Salvador Mission, stake president, bishop, ward Young Men president, elders quorum president, and Gospel Doctrine teacher.


Elder Larry S. Kacher, First Counselor

Elder

Elder Larry S. Kacher was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 5, 2014. At the time of his call he had been serving as a member of the Third Quorum of the Seventy in the Middle East/Africa North Area. He is currently serving as a member of the Africa West Area Presidency.

Elder Kacher received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Brigham Young University in 1976. In 1978 he received a master’s degree in organizational behavior, also from Brigham Young University. In 1978 he began his career with Honeywell and later became their European director of human resource development, based in Brussels, Belgium. During the majority of his career, Elder Kacher consulted with large international companies in the areas of strategy, organization design, and leadership development. Prior to his call to the Seventy, he was working and consulting for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, based in the United Arab Emirates.

Elder Kacher has served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in French Polynesia, branch president in Belgium, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, president of the Geneva Switzerland Mission (2000–2003), and Area Seventy.

Larry Stephen Kacher was born in Mankato, Minnesota, on February 12, 1952. He married Pauline Miller in October 1976. They are the parents of six children.

DUBE

Elder Edward Dube, Second Counselor

Elder Edward Dube was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 2013. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Third Quorum of the Seventy in the Africa Southeast Area. He is currently serving as a member of the Africa West Area Presidency.

Elder Dube received a diploma in education in 1992 from Zimbabwe D.E. College and studied entrepreneurship at the University of South Africa in 2003. He has worked in many positions for the Church Educational System in Africa for over 15 years.

Elder Dube has served in several Church callings, including full-time missionary in Zimbabwe, district president, branch president, stake president, president of the Zimbabwe Harare Mission, and Area Seventy.

Edward Dube was born in Chiramanzu, Zimbabwe, on May 12, 1962. He married Naume Keresia Salizani on December 9, 1989. They are the parents of four children.
