“Be Strong and Courageous in Christ”

YSA

The Young Single Adults gathered in great numbers to renew friendships and make new friends at this year’s summit.   The event was held at the Methodist University in Accra.  The first day was opened with a welcome from President Baidoo, Stake President of the Lartebiokorshie Stake, and the chair stake for the 2017 Conference.  We then heard from Elder Quaisie, Area Seventy who gave a very inspirational message on choices and decisions.

Activities included a talent show made up of everything from dancing, songs, poetry, playing musical instruments, and a fashion show.  It was a fun evening!  The sporting activity also was a big hit with a number of prizes awarded.  The weather finally won out and got everyone wet at the end.  Good food is also important and the young single adults stayed full and enjoyed fellowshipping together during meal times.

There were workshops for everyone to enjoy.  They included ‘Meeting our Grandparents’,  ‘What Direction Should I Take? - Self-Reliance’, and ‘Facing Fear and Weakness’.

The conference concluded with a special visit from Elder and Sister Nash, First Counselor in the Area Presidency.  They conducted a question and answer period that was very much enjoyed by all YSA.

In this gospel-centered atmosphere, loving leaders spoke and helped address many of the issues that face YSA. Their message built faith and increased testimonies.  An estimated 750 young single adults were in attendance.  The stake YSA representatives and their committees did a wonderful job in organizing this event and making it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
