Tamale District Members Cleans Bongo District Hospital

service

As an annual activity of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints dubbed 'All Africa Service project to give back to the society where it derives its members from a free service. The  Bolgatanga two branches of Tamale District-Ghana took this year's service to Bongo District hospital in Bongo in the upper east region. As early as 0730 hours we enthusiastically made an about 30km journey from Bolgatanga to the health facility with our bus, tricycles, and motorcycles armed with our tools in readiness for the cleaning exercise and we were welcomed by the management and staff of the hospital led by the dynamic administrator Mr.Pascal Dongzuing and the accountant Mr.Seidu Dumba and after a briefed exchanged of greetings and introduction we were shown the places round the hospital and work begun in earnest by our members, supported by some of the hospital's staff. With no particular order, some were weeding with hoes, some slashing the overgrown grasses with cutlasses others conveying them to dumping sites some picking the rubbish, others sweeping and some drudging the choked gutters for over two hours. When we were finally done we were addressed by the hospital administrator, Mr. Pascal Dongzuing who described our coming as timely and appropriate as the hospital is due for review on 21st August 2019 and neatness of the hospital environment is one of the key evaluation items of their synopsis. He added that cleanliness they say is next to godliness and taken it to health facility makes it more appropriate and therefore thanked the church members for the invaluable service rendered and prayed for the church to grow and for more support. On behalf of the members of the two branches, high councilor Peter Amoa-Ohenakwah also thanked the management and staff of the hospital for the opportunity given to us to perform a religious duty. He said that the church and state institutions like the Bongo district government hospital are partners in development and looking forward to more collaboration for a better society.
