On April 1, 2019, the Darkuman YSAs Ward hosted Family Home Evening. Families, Friends, and Ward members were invited to learn “Here a little, there a little (2 Nephi 28:30) as the YSAs shared of their Book of Mormon Experiences.
YSAs were taught about the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon. They learned of Samuel the Lamanite and how he called the Nephites to repentance. We learned of Captain Moroni his courage, teachings and the blessings that come from making good choices.
There was a beautiful pencil drawing of Father Lehi’s dream displayed.
The evening was full of monologues, videos, power point presentation, live drama and most importantly, full of testimonies given from the heart.
It was evident that these YSAs have a great love and understanding for this most precious and sacred book, the Book of Mormon. They are striving to live by its precepts and are reaching out and sharing those things that they have learned and experienced in Institute.
The evening concluded with tributes and testimonies of teachers and leaders. A special debt of gratitude was expressed to the wife of an institute teacher. A woman who had sacrificed much of her time with her husband to teach the YSAs.
